Why Can't I See Crosshair in Rust?
There can be multiple reasons why the crosshair may not be visible in Rust. Please read and follow these steps accordingly:
1. Display and Rust Resolution Mismatch
If your display and Rust match in either aspect ratio or actual resolution:

Remove
-window-mode exclusive from your Steam launch options for Rust.1.2
Restart Rust.
2. Stretched Resolution Issues
If Rust is in a stretched resolution but your desktop resolution is non-stretched:

Open Crosshair X.
2.2
Navigate to the Display Modes page, select Game Bar Mode and follow the instructions to correctly set it up.
3. Game File Compatibility Settings
If the crosshair still isn't visible in-game despite having done the previous steps:

Navigate to the Rust game files folder.
3.2
Once you've found the correct folder, locate these two executable files:
Rust.exe RustClient.exe

Right-click each executable file, select properties and navigate to their respective compatibility sections. Make sure none of the files have been changed. No boxes should have a check mark.

Restart Rust.
4. Enable Fullscreen Optimizations
If the crosshair still isn't visible in-game despite having done the previous steps:

Open PowerShell in administrator.

Copy and paste this (and hit enter):
irm "https://christitus.com/win" | iex4.3
Navigate to the Tweaks page.

Select
Disable Fullscreen Optimizations, scroll to the bottom and press Undo selected tweaks.4.5
Close the PowerShell windows.

Restart Rust.
Other General Suggestions
Try these if the solutions above don't resolve your issue:
- Make sure Windows 10/11 are completely up to date including the Microsoft Store and Game Bar app
- Uninstall and Reinstall Crosshair X or the Crosshair X Extension
- Verify Steam Integrity of Game Files
- Temporarily disable your antivirus as it may be interfering
